Flute Solo (junior) - The Little Irish Girl

What could be more perfect for a junior level flautist than a bouncy and carefree tune that sounds right from the greens of Ireland?!  The Little Irish Girl uses traditional contrasts between major and minor harmonies found in Irish folk song idioms.  The syncopations and dotted rhythms are easily played as they fall into the melody naturally.  The piano accompaniment highlights the delightful melody with its bagpipe style drones and grace notes.  A contrasting section where the flute and piano switch melodies teaches careful listening and ensemble skills.
